Milena Osorio is a Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist, currently she is the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program Coordinator at the International Committee of the Red Cross. She has more than 20 years of experience in humanitarian work, specifically in designing and implementing mental health programs to assist victims of armed conflict, violence and disasters. Milena worked for 16 years in the field herself, providing mental health support to these in need all over the world. Since 5 years she is working at the ICRC HQ leading and providing technical support to a team of almost 150 professionals who work for the ICRC today in the mental health field in 130 programs worldwide. Milena is originally from Colombia where she started to help victims of the conflict and study further human rights and gender. She specialized in the implementation of mental health humanitarian programs for victims of violence, victims of sexual violence and relatives of disappeared persons among many other vulnerable groups from diversified socio-cultural contexts.
