Dr. Alamiri completed her general psychiatry and subspecialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry at Harvard Medical School affiliated hospitals. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in both General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Alamiri also successfully accomplished the Fellowship in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute. She holds memberships at several professional societies including the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She successfully established and designed Almanara in 2012, the only dedicated center for child and adolescent mental health in Kuwait. Almanara offers comprehensive management plans for children, adolescents and their families with different psychiatric conditions. Dr. Alamiri is also an epidemiologist who obtained a Doctorate of Science degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in psychiatric epidemiology. Her research interest is on the overlap between neurodevelopment and psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Alamiri currently serves as the chairperson of Almanara. She also serves on multiple committees such as, the Drug and Therapeutic Committee, quality and safety, and the Media Committee at KCMH.
