Dr. Dawn McBride is a registered psychologist (clinical), supervisor of provisional psychologists, and associate tenured professor in counsellor education at University of Lethbridge (Canada). Her clinical areas of interest range from the assessment and treatment of self-harm, eating disorders, trauma (e.g., family violence, motor vehicle accidents). She has an active research agenda that includes the study of ethics (value-based, best practices with record keeping, consent practices), multiculturalism, and supervision/training. She also studies transactional analysis, emotional regulation, EMDR, group therapies (particularly processed based), creative/play therapies, psychodynamic, and somatic interventions. She has won numerous teaching awards, has co-edited a book on teaching practices across cultures in higher education, and has presented at many international conferences. She also recently won award from a major Women’s Shelter for providing exceptional clinical and ethical consultation to their staff. She maintains a private practice where she supervises provisional psychologists, provides consultation/training around the world, and offers therapy services, specializing in complex cases.
