Amanda Clinton PhD, “Applying Psychological Science to Global Problems Using Design Thinking”
Olusheyi Lawoyin is currently the Chief Operations Officer at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Los Angeles, California that is designated to provide quality, comprehensive, and culturally sensitive services to underserved communities in South Los Angeles. With a background in global and community health, she has been a United States Peace Corps volunteer with the Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services; managed the health portfolio for the Public Affairs Section of the US Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria; provided program and research support at the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and served as an ASPH/CDC Global Health Fellow with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Olusheyi is interested in the intersection of International Psychology and Public Health, with a primary interest in the ecological impact on a health system’s response to public health issues that affect underserved populations globally. She currently serves as a member of the advisory board of the University of California, Riverside’s Design Thinking program, and has a background in Lean. She is currently a doctoral student in International Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
