Introducing:
Barbara D’Elia, PhD, “Rewriting the Story of Grief: Narrative Therapy as a Tool for Handling Grief”
PJ Singh is a trauma researcher and storyteller born from Afghan and Kashmiri sprinkles. After her Papa died when she was 8, she knew she had to devote her life to sadaqah “service” to honor the life of her Sufi Scholar father. She has recently returned from launching programs and creating pockets for healing in the Middle East with a specific focus on intergenerational messaging on shame, vulnerability & mourning. Her work with rescued trafficked survivors, refugees, and internally displaced persons in the darkest parts of the Middle East includes uniquely using art, film, and photography from a community lens for healing. She researched the unique features of community trauma for Black, Indigenous, and Communities of Color assessing Social, Affective, Developmental, and Neuroscience elements. She has over 16 years of direct trauma care experience learning from each client she supports. She believes one conversation can open the path for healing. She is a doctoral student in International Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
