Shana L. Gangi is an active Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is a former Air Force soldier and Medical Retiree of the United States Army (USA). In addition, Mrs. Gangi provides clinical counseling through a tele-behavioral health platform at American Well.
While in the Army, Mrs. Gangi held the position of Clinical Social Worker and developed a passion for serving others during times of crisis. She gained knowledge and therapeutic experience from a variety of settings that include trauma, sexual assault, addiction medicine, domestic violence, child and adolescent therapy, crisis management, and marriage and family therapy. Her training and certifications of evidence-based therapy techniques include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD), and PE (Prolonged Exposure Training). Mrs. Gangi received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Excelsior College, her first Master’s Degree in Human Services from Liberty University, and her second Master’s Degree through the United States Army-Fayetteville State University Masters of Social Work (MSW) Program. Mrs. Gangi was raised in a military environment where she lived overseas and stateside due to her father’s service in the United States Army. After high school, Mrs, Gangi had the opportunity to elect her first duty assignment in the United States Air Force at Ramstein Air Force Base Germany where she developed a love for other countries. In later years when she began her degree in Social Work, she would travel yearly abroad with her husband and noticed a desire to perform humanitarian services in other countries. After her Medical Retirement from the United States Army, Mrs. Gangi made the decision to take action on this desire and enrolled into the International Psychology (IP) PhD program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP). Mrs. Gangi has a passion for traveling during her off time and currently resides in Texas with her husband who is a Retiree of the United States Armed Forces and 3 dogs.
