Introducing:
Mandeep Jassall, “Shifting Unhealthy Emotions to Healthy Emotions”
In an increasingly global and diverse society, Sheronda Lucas believes in the strength of people and rounded approaches to healthcare services that support meaningful change. This belief has manifested itself throughout her life through a variety of educational endeavors and clinical experiences. Originally from Orangeburg, SC, Sheronda completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina Upstate with a BS in Biology and a minor in Psychology in 2009. She received a Master in Rehabilitation Science in Occupational Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 2012. Additionally, as a reflection of her interests in holistic and spiritually integrated care, she received a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Christian Theological Seminary in 2020 where she also received the Pastoral Theology and Psychology award. This is a direct complement to a decade of her current and on-going clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist with specialty areas in spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke, dementia, and complex medical patients across the lifespan. She is certified in Neuro-developmental therapy (NDT) for addressing hemiplegia in Stroke patients and trained in LSVT (Lee Silverman Voice Treatment) for Parkinson’s disease.
As a further commitment to global access to mental health care, basic universal rights, inclusion, and cross-cultural application of psychological principles she is currently a PhD student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in International Psychology with a concentration in Trauma Services. From a mental health perspective, some of her clinical areas of interest include depression, generalized anxiety, grief, PTSD (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder), personality disorders, coping skills, and spiritual/ existential work as they relate to overall physiological functioning and life satisfaction.
