Stephanie Elizabeth Beckman is a curriculum developer and full-time faculty member at Madison College in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. She is a 2019 recipient of the Phi Theta Kappa “Golden Apple” instructor impact award. She earned a BS in French, Education, and African Studies from the University of Wisconsin. She attended Université Gaston-Berger in Sénégal where she studied French and African Languages and Literature while researching the lived experiences of veiled women “ibadatou” on the UGB campus. After teaching English at Matsudo Kokusai Koutougakkou in Japan, she pursued an MA in Education, English, and TESOL from Edgewood College and wrote her thesis on the perceived impact of eReaders on literacy development. She is currently a doctoral student in International Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in Organizations and Systems. Her research interests focus on the relationship between forgiveness, healing, and peacemaking, and she researches organizationally facilitated forgiveness programs globally. Her academic and professional work spans the United States, Canada, Perú, Colombia, Brasil, Switzerland, Rwanda, Sénégal, Sierra Leone, Kuwait, The Philippines, China, and Japan. She is a board member of the United Nations Association of the United States of America Dane County Chapter and racial justice and restorative justice facilitator for the YWCA. She is a member of MEPA, ANDEPSI, ICP, and APA. She serves on the APA Division 48 (Peace Psychology) Inclusion & Diversity Committee and Elections & Appointments Committee.
